Ian Barry and Cruze, who each love sampling and talking about all that life has to offer. Cigar reviews, spirit tastings and shameless sampling of new and exciting craft beers are the focal points of the show, along with interviews with special guests from these industries and pursuits.

Special guests have included cigar czar Rocky Patel, Justo Eroia from Aladino Cigars, and many other luminaries from the cigar world, as well as brew masters and master distillers from some of the finest craft breweries and distilleries in the world! A wide range of brand ambassadors from world-renowned Single-Malt Scotch to Premium Rum and Tequila also join the show regularly, as do the show’s staff of “experts” on Whiskey, Tequila, Wine, and Cigar Rights and Legislation. The guys even take the show on the road broadcasting live from Honduras, Ybor City, Beverly Hills Las Vegas, Mexico and funky dive bars just about everywhere.
Smokin’ And Toastin’ has produced over 300 weekly episodes and can average between 15,000 and 20,000 listeners and viewers per month. The show also includes music, comedy, and the popular segment “Drinking News.” Smokin’ & Toastin’ also hosts a popular annual cigar and sprits event called “The Whiskey Sniff.”
Smokin’ & Toastin’ is not your grandfather’s cigar and drinking show. Smokin’ & Toastin’ is an irreverent weekly personal visit with two guys who love to smoke and drink all the right stuff! Who are Cruz and Ian Barry?…
Cruze is a cigar, spirit, and craft beer enthusiast, which basically means that he is enthusiastic about all of those things!
His career has included several decades hosting broadcast morning talk shows in cities including Boston, Philadelphia, and Houston.
Cruze became fascinated with cigars around 1995, and he is particularly fond of rum and tequila. When it comes to craft beer, Cruze is an “IPA guy,” but loves all styles as long as they’re packed with flavor!
Cruze lives in Houston, TX, with his wife and a very fussy rescue greyhound named “Gracie.” He’s the co-owner of RFC Media and SuiteRadio, providing streaming and broadcast music formats to a range of clients worldwide. Hosting Smokin’ & Toastin’ is his favorite part of every week!
Ian Barry is a musician, luthier, beer enthusiast, scotch philosopher, and Mountain biker.
As a Musician, Ian has played in venues all across the Texas/Louisiana Region in a number of notable bands since moving to Houston in the early 90’s. This afforded him ample opportunity to sample beers from different areas. Through discipline and dedication, In would bravely explore all local beer flavors that he encountered, instilling a love for all styles of beer. He particularly prefers the malty, darker and fruitier flavors over the lighter floral varieties that his ‘hop head’ friends tend to favor.
Introduced to scotch in the early 2000s, his love for the delicious brown spirit blossomed to an enthusiastic exploration encompassing all styles of whysky.
Cigars started out as curiosity and occasional indulgence and have grown into a passion on their own that includes pairing them with spirits and beer. The love for cigars, beer and whiskey endures to this very day.
